In the days following the Louvre robbery, mugshots of alleged suspects have been turning heads.
News broke on October 19 that four individuals pulled off a seven-minute heist in the Louvre’s Galerie d’Apollon, stealing $100 million in jewelry. The items have yet to be recovered as French authorities have arrested several suspects.
Social media sleuths have since begun posting alleged mugshots of the suspects — but they are not real. In one post, Gossip Girl actor Chace Crawford was seen photographed beside dancer Stefan Dolbashian.
“At first I just laughed it off not thinking much of it but that same day and several days after it seemed like almost everyone I’ve ever met in life reached out to me asking if the picture was me,” Dolbashian told Today.

‘Gossip Girl’ Alum Chace Crawford’s Mugshot Was Used for a Louvre Robbery Post
The photo of Crawford circulating the internet post-robbery was from his 2010 arrest. The following year, The New York Post reported that Crawford’s case would be dismissed and the misdemeanor drug charge would not be part of his record — as long as he performed 24 hours of community service, appeared for a monthly check-in with a probation officer and wasn’t arrested again.
Dancer Stefan Dolbashian’s Mugshot Was Used for a Louvre Robbery Post
Dolbashian, whose mugshot has gone viral alongside Crawford’s, poked fun at the post. (Dolbashian told Today on Wednesday, November 5, that his mugshot is from a 2010 arrest on burglary charges, which were dropped. He has no convictions.)
“Since everyone keeps asking yes, after an extensive career in the performing arts, I’ve decided to leave it all behind to team up with Hollywood star Chase Crawford and commit international thievery across the whole world. We appreciate your love and support in this endeavor as we have poured our blood, sweat and tears into our new careers, and we hope we can continue to count on your support in the future,” Dolbashian joked via Instagram.
Dolbashian continued: “In all seriousness, this is hilarious and I hope it keeps going thank you guys so much for reaching out. I appreciate it. Love you all. Thank you so much for continuing to support me in my endeavors. The Louvre was just the start!! Lmao!!!”
Another Instagram account included a photo of the dancer with an unidentified man. “Paris police have arrested two men suspected of stealing priceless jewels from the Louvre Museum. The pair were captured after a late-night chase through the streets near the iconic glass pyramid. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing as they work to recover the missing artifacts,” the caption read.
In the comments section of the post, users quickly weighed in on the men.
“It is so French of them to both be this hot,” Jameela Jamil wrote, while Christie Brinkley added, “They are both works of art! 🙌🙌.”
Who Are the Suspects of the Louvre Robbery?
Four people have been charged by the Paris prosecutor overseeing the investigation, the New York Times reported. Three of the individuals are suspected of having directly robbed the museum and have been charged with theft by an organized gang. One other person whom the police think is involved remains at large.
