Millie Bobby Brown is already fiercely protective of her newborn daughter.
“For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself,” Brown, 21, told British Vogue in a cover story published Wednesday, November 5. “It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly.”
She continued, “If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that’s something we’d support. But right now, as she’s so little. … As her parents, it’s our job to protect her from that.”
Brown and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, announced in August that they welcomed their first child via adoption. Since then, the pair have been tight-lipped about sharing family photos or revealing their daughter’s name. According to Brown, she and Bongiovi, 23, have no plans to share their daughter’s moniker until “she’s ready to decide for herself.”

Brown and Bongiovi, one of the sons of rocker Jon Bon Jovi, are instead basking in their quiet newborn bliss.
“It’s been a beautiful, amazing journey — she’s taught us so much already,” the Stranger Things actress told British Vogue. “Perspective is a huge thing. The smaller things in life are so much more precious. Our days are filled with lots of cuddles and laughter and love. It’s just endless joy.”
The couple also evenly split most parenting duties.
“We are 50-50 on everything,” Brown told the outlet when asked whether she or Bongiovi change more diapers. “That’s why I’m so grateful to have partnered with him in this life. He is just the most amazing dad.”
Brown and Bongiovi got married in 2024 after two years of dating, and they were always aligned about the prospect of having children.
“My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19, and you know, it’s been my thing since before I met Jake,” she said on the “SmartLess” podcast in March. “Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.”
She added, “My thing was, I really want a family. I really want a big family. I’m one of four. He’s one of four. So, it is definitely in our future, but, for me, I don’t see having your own child, you know, as really any different as in adopting.”

Brown and Bongiovi’s families have also been thrilled to bond with the infant.
“It’s crazy, but great,” Bon Jovi, 63, said on the “Dumb Blonde” podcast in September. “They adopted a girl, we met the baby obviously and immediately that becomes your grandchild. It’s beautiful. I want to see pictures, like, every other day. I’m that pain-in-the-butt guy already and, yeah, it’s cool.”
Weeks later, Bon Jovi said on the Today show that he “immediately” fell in love with his first grandchild.
“When we met Jake and Millie’s daughter, it was just immediate, like, ‘That’s my granddaughter,’ and it’s cool, you know?” he recalled last month. “She won’t be able to walk for at least 10 or 12 years because Papa will be carrying her everywhere she goes.”
