Andrea Hardison and John Quinn were elected to two three-year seats on the Orono Town Council Tuesday.
Hardison was reelected to her position on the council while Quinn was elected to the council for the first time with 1,227 and 1,388 votes, respectively.
Colleen Marzilli came in third with 1,184 votes.
Both winners said the Council is successful in community building and budget review with its current members, but want to see changes in the community.
Hardison, 54, has been on the council since November 2024 when she was elected to a one-year term. She was “shocked, relieved and excited” at the results while looking forward to a three-year term, she said.
“I am just so appreciative of all of the support that I’ve had, and I’m excited for another three years, and I’m just looking forward to everything that I can continue to do, and more for the town,” Hardison said.
She ran for reelection because she wants to be more involved with the community and town budget. Comments and issues from residents that don’t come to council should be heard and considered, she said, something she wants to do by having more conversations with residents outside Council chambers.
Her work to bring the town together and develop connections between neighbors through the good neighbor and community development committees will continue into her second term, she said.
Quinn, 38, is a therapist at his business, Stillwater Therapy, in Orono.
Listening to the community to understand what services should be offered without burdening taxpayers, Quinn said. His background in therapy will help him listen to the community and understand what changes should be made, he said.
Quinn was not immediately available for a comment following the election.
