The White House has the internet talking after using one of Taylor Swift’s hit singles on TikTok despite President Donald Trump’s online feud with the pop star.
On Monday, November 3, the official White House TikTok account posted a video of President Trump, 79, and his administration largely based on Swift’s No. 1 hit “The Fate of Ophelia.”
“OUR VIBES 🇺🇸,” read the caption over the 22-second clip, which included a series of photos tied to Swift’s lyrics.
“Keep it one hundred on the land, thе sea, the sky / Pledge allegiance to your hands, your team, your vibes,” Swift, 35, sings in the hit track. “Don’t care where the hell you’ve been ’cause now you’re mine / It’s ’bout to be the sleepless night you’ve been dreaming of.”

After the clip — which featured photos of Vice President JD Vance and First Lady Melania Trump — spread online, the White House released a statement.
“We made this video because we knew fake news media brands would breathlessly amplify them,” a White House official told Us Weekly on Tuesday, November 4, the 35th day of the ongoing government shutdown. “Congrats, you got played.”
Back in August, the commander-in-chief reacted to the news that Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce were engaged after two years of dating.
“Well, I wish them a lot of luck,” the president said after he was asked to weigh in on the news by a reporter, per footage shared by CSPAN. “No, I think he’s a great player. I think he’s a great guy. And I think that she’s a terrific person, so I wish them a lot of luck.”

Although Donald had nothing but positive things to say about the pair’s engagement, he has publicly criticized Swift on more than one occasion, at one point even declaring his dislike for the singer.
After Swift endorsed Donald’s 2024 presidential election rival, then-Vice President Kamala Harris, the former Celebrity Apprentice host attacked the Grammy winner online, posting “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” on Truth Social.
In May, Donald once again threw insults at Swift, writing, “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’”
Swift made it a point not to weigh in on political issues during the beginning and vast majority of her career. Things changed in October 2018, however, when she spoke out for the first time to endorse two Democratic candidates in Tennessee.
In May 2020, Swift made headlines again when she spoke out against Donald as protests surrounding the murder of George Floyd were held throughout the United States.
“Taylor felt it was necessary to speak up against Trump and express her morals and values,” a source told Us at the time. “She realizes how powerful her voice is and wanted to use it for the greater good. She wanted to speak out against inequalities in the world and support minorities.”

One artist who doesn’t mind the Trump administration using her music is Nicki Minaj.
After the White House TikTok posted a clip on Monday, November 3, with the “Beez In The Trap x What’s Up?” remix, Minaj, 42, reportedly commented, “This is pretty incredible. Thank you.”
Swift has yet to publicly comment on The White House’s latest TikTok, featuring music from her latest record-breaking album, The Life of a Showgirl.
