Voting is underway across the state today, as Mainers visit polling places to decide on two referendums and local races, including competitive Bangor City Council contest and a controversial budget question in Washington County.
The first statewide referendum question would add voter ID requirements and limit absentee voting, while Question 2 would implement a red flag to make it easier for firearms to be temporarily taken away from people who pose a significant danger.
The Bangor Daily News will begin publishing elections results from municipalities after polls close at 8 p.m. You can still register to vote at the polls today and can drop off your absentee ballot anytime before polls close.
