Bank contributions to organization surpass $18,000 in recent years
SOUTH PARIS — Walking through the doors of Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills is heartwarming and heartbreaking. The compassion, care and love being offered by staff and volunteers is inspiring, and the eyes of the homeless cats and dogs waiting for their “forever homes” can raise a tear.
A grassroots effort has grown into a bustling and benevolent facility on Swallow Road in South Paris where dedicated, compassionate people meet the plight and need of homeless pets with welcome and warmth.
It’s a cause that has drawn longtime support from many local people and businesses, including Norway Savings Bank. NSB donated $1,000 to the organization this month and has contributed over $18,000 in recent years.
“NSB’s contributions mean that homeless cats and dogs that come to our shelter will receive the finest, compassionate care they deserve while waiting to be placed into caring new homes. We are truly grateful for our generous and compassionate supporters with the heart to make the shelter possible to continue compassionate service to animals that need it so much,” said Shirley Boyce, president of RPC.
At any given time, RPC cares for over 100 cats and 25 dogs, providing shelter but also arranging for and financing medical treatment. Adoptions are also down in shelters across the country due to economic uncertainty. If you are able to assist, it would mean the world to RPC and their friends. There are so many ways to help:
