Nicole Young left Selling Sunset after making controversial comments about Chrishell Stause‘s parents on season 9 — but she appears unbothered off screen.
After Netflix released the new episodes on Wednesday, October 29, Nicole, 39, took to Instagram to share a video of her reunion look, writing, “No need to speak loudly when your presence says enough. Sometimes the smallest window is all you need to show the truth and who you really are.”
She continued: “And never forget, if haters are hating, you’re doing something right 😉 Keep shining and never let anyone dim your light!I was so honored to wear this insanely gorgeous.”
In addition to the motivational message, Nicole shared several Instagram Stories from viewers who praised her actions throughout the season.

“They can never make me hate you,” read one post, while another addressed the memorable dinner scene with Chrishell, 44, by saying, “You eat and left no crumbs.”
Another social media user complimented Nicole’s behavior, writing, “People love drama but I know the truth. Nicole is THAT girl. Smart, confident and real not everyone can handle that.”
Nicole received backlash for bringing up Chrishell’s late parents on camera after Chrishell accused Nicole of doing drugs. “Honey, you’re confusing me with your parents, OK? You seem to be obsessed with drugs,” Nicole replied.
Nicole was later asked not to come into The Oppenheim Group. She was missing from most of the season before returning — only to reveal she was moving to Nashville.
“I had a call with production two days ago during which they told me I have absolutely not been fired from the cast but they chose to pause my filming schedule until next week in order to protect me from situations on set that had become very contentious,” Nicole told Us Weekly in a statement in January when news broke about her not filming with the rest of the cast. “I’m still debating whether or not I want to continue filming in this kind of environment, especially with so many infuriating double standards.”
Nicole added: “Selling Sunset has been a great opportunity and a wild ride, but it is not my life or identity. I have a big, beautiful life outside of the show…and thankfully in the real world, my life and personality can’t be edited or misconstrued to portray me negatively to fit into a produced storyline.”
Chrishell also spoke out on Wednesday hours after the new season premiered.

“The build up clearly had to be condensed down. I didn’t bring the stupid drug thing up, but defended not lying and it escalated from there. Information was shared with me by another cast member that I brought up in the heat of the moment that I shouldn’t have,” she claimed via Instagram. “I would gladly free base off my desk if I never had to talk about this again.”
Chrishell stood by her defense of her adoptive father, Jeff, who died in April 2019, and her mother, Ranae, who died in July 2020. Both battled lung cancer.
“I want to dedicate this season to my parents. Because of what was said, they are brought up in every interview that I do. They were such bad asses, and would be very proud of me. (Yes even after this dinner),” she concluded. “My mom would have had some choice words for a few people, and we would have laughed. Thinking of that makes me smile, and I just want to add a positive memory to the conversation if they are going to be discussed.”
Netflix viewers are expecting to see Nicole and Chrishell come face-to-face again in the upcoming reunion, which starts streaming Wednesday, November 5. Nicole previously expressed frustration after filming the special.
“I sit in my trailer so long that I watch four movies… they finally bring me out to set, they sit me down and they want me to address one specific instance. So I do. And then, the moderator goes, ‘OK, thanks Nicole, it was great to see you,’” she claimed via TikTok in August. “I really, just, never experienced a situation where it was so obvious that the intent was to not give me the opportunity to speak. Unreal. But you know what? Sometimes you just have to recognize things that no longer serve you. And this is one of them.”
Selling Sunset is currently streaming on Netflix.
