PORTLAND — The Maine Public Relations Council, a statewide professional organization and a participating body of the nine-member Universal Accreditation Board for accreditation in public relations certification in the United States, will hold its Annual Conference and Meeting on Friday, Nov. 7, featuring a dynamic roster of local PR and communication professionals, agency leaders, and local journalists and reporters.
The 2025 MPRC Annual Conference and Meeting will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the McGoldrick Center for Career & Student Success at the University of Southern Maine, located at 35 Bedford St.. The theme is “Steady PR: Maintaining Balance and Trust in Chaotic Times.”
In an era where information overload, shifting narratives and stakeholder expectations are intensified, MPRC recognizes the need for steady communication leadership. This year’s conference will focus on helping PR professionals navigate uncertainty while maintaining authenticity, credibility and composure in their work and media relationships.

Speakers include Dan Coyne, president and CEO of the United Way of Southern Maine; Anthony Ronzio, director of communications for the Office of Maine Gov. Janet Mills; Chris Grass, president of Fan Out Media; Dan Cashman, director of public relations at Sutherland Weston; APR-accredited PR practitioners; and reporters, journalists, and representatives from the Portland Press Herald, Bangor Daily News, Maine Public and local television networks.
