Keith Urban is ready to close his chapter with estranged wife Nicole Kidman nearly one month after the actress filed for divorce.
“Keith has moved on and has been open with Nicole about where he stands,” an insider exclusively told Us Weekly of the exes, who were married for nearly 20 years.
Kidman, 58, submitted the divorce docs on September 30, one day after Us confirmed the pair had separated, but according to the source, it was a move that was a “long time coming.”
“The two had grown apart quietly over time, and by the end, the decision to separate was more about acceptance than surprise,” the insider added.
Ringless Keith Urban Steps Out in 1st Appearance Since Nicole Kidman Split
Urban, 58, and Kidman wed in 2006, one year after they first met. They welcomed daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, during their marriage. (Kidman also shares kids Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30, with ex-husband Tom Cruise.) Urban and Kidman expanded their empires together over the years, buying properties across the globe, including planting roots at their home base in Nashville and supporting each other’s projects before their split.
Urban, who wrapped up his High and Alive World Tour in Nashville on October 17, has not ruled out the possibility of finding a connection with someone in the future. The Road star is “not dating one person but is open and has moved on from the marriage with Nicole,” the source told Us.
Us Weekly reached out to Urban for comment.
Kidman cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. Along with the divorce filing was a parenting plan, a child support plan and a “parenting seminar order.” The parenting plan included a request from Kidman to be named the “primary residential parent” of Sunday and Faith. The plan also detailed that the girls will spend 306 days out of the year with Kidman and 59 days with Urban, which includes every other weekend.

Prior to their shocking breakup, Urban and Kidman were last spotted out together in public at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 soccer match in Nashville on June 20. Neither Kidman nor Urban has publicly commented on their divorce, however, Urban went viral with a clip from his October 17 concert after interacting with a fan named Nicole.
“I’m not going to like your name?” Urban can be heard asking the fan in footage shared via TikTok, to which the fan replied, “It’s Nicole.” Laughter filled the audience as Urban playfully fell backward and collapsed onto the ground with a smile on his face.
Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban Were ‘Working Through Stuff’ Before Split
Kidman, for her part, seemed to be in good spirits when she attended the Vogue World 2025: Hollywood fashion show at the Paramount Studios lot in Los Angeles on Sunday, October 27. The Big Little Lies actress wore a black Chanel by Matthieu Blazy strapless gown as she paid tribute to Rita Hayworth’s 1946 film Gilda, catwalking to the song “Put the Blame on Mame.”
A second insider previously told Us that Kidman, like Urban, is focused on the road ahead with her kids and her bustling career.
“She is pushing forward in a good way,” the second source said. “She isn’t necessarily trying to find her new normal throughout all of this, because they had been quietly separated for a while now.”
“This next chapter feels more like a transition than a shock,” the second insider added of what Kidman’s life looks like post-split.
