
A bicyclist was killed in a Monday night hit-and-run crash in Brunswick.
Silas Octavi Esquivel Perez, 23, of Brunswick was riding a bicycle on Old Bath Road, near the Route 1 overpass, about 11:30 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Lance Lucas-Wallace of Brunswick, according to Police Chief Scott Stewart.
Perez died at the scene, Stewart said Tuesday morning.
Lucas-Wallace didn’t stop, but he later returned to the crash scene.
Lucas-Wallace was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, OUI involving death and manslaughter.
He was arrested and taken to the Cumberland County Jail in Portland, where his bail has been set at $100,000.
Lucas-Wallace was scheduled to appear in Cumberland County Superior Court on Dec. 16.
The crash remains under investigation.
