PORTLAND — Collab: TECH by Town & Country FCU is a new innovation showcase that empowers the public to use current and emerging technologies for their financial wellbeing. The space, located at 59 Middle St. in Portland, gives the community hands-on experiences with a variety of digital solutions that can be used to drive innovation and enhance financial wellness.
Collab is a new initiative from Town & Country — a movement designed to bring people together to fuel meaningful change in our communities through collaboration. Collab is a catalyst for progress that fosters exploration, discussion, and future-thinking.
In support of this movement, Collab: TECH makes digital tools more accessible and approachable, thereby expanding the reach of collaboration to all community members, regardless of their technical expertise. The space also encourages general curiosity and exploration in technology by hosting events, such as guest speakers, panel discussions, and more. By focusing on how technology enables collaboration rather than just the technology itself, Collab: TECH ensures that digital transformation is not just about innovation, but about real-world impact.
“We believe technology should be more than just innovation, it should be a bridge that connects people, empowers communities, and opens doors to new opportunities,” said David Libby, president and CEO of Town & Country Federal Credit Union. “By turning technology into a channel for collaboration and exploration, we’re not only showcasing what’s possible today but also shaping a more connected future.”
Collab: TECH walks visitors through new technologies and digital experiences in a stress-free environment. They can learn about all the tools available for their financial wellbeing today, as well as discover up-and-coming technologies they could use in the future.
Currently, there are several experiences available at Collab: TECH for the public to try. This includes AR headsets, smart home devices, and Pepper: an interactive humanoid robot that can converse, answer questions, dance, and pose for a selfie. New experiences and innovations will be introduced on an ongoing basis. There are a multitude of digital technologies entering the financial space. By staying current and informed of the newest digital tools, Collab: TECH can give you peace of mind and confidence as you navigate the digital economy. The staff can assist visitors through the Town & Country mobile app and connect them to other departments to help with any of their banking needs. They will also encourage visitors to consider how these technologies can help with their own passions.
“Town & Country has always been passionate about education, innovation, and supporting our communities,” said Libby. “Collab: TECH harnesses those values to build a better future through technology and collaboration, connection and community.”
