Cheryl Hines is opening up about how she deals with rumors and speculation surrounding her marriage to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
“I think you always have to consider the source, right?” she shared in a sneak preview of the Tuesday, October 28, episode of “The Katie Miller Podcast” obtained by Politico. “So that’s where I start. And then it ends with a conversation with Bobby.”
According to the outlet, Hines, 60, also addressed her husband’s alleged affair with journalist Olivia Nuzzi in her latest podcast interview. (Kennedy, 71, has denied an affair and claimed to have only met Nuzzi, 32, once.)
“Bobby had been running for president, and it was an exhausting year-and-a-half of headlines and rumors and articles and chaos,” Hines told host Katie Miller. “And at that time, I thought, ‘OK, this is more chaos and more rumors.’ And, um, it was a lot.”
Every Time Cheryl Hines Has Defended Husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
On October 14, Status reported that Nuzzi is planning to release a memoir about her life, and advance copies have already been shared privately with a limited number of insiders.
When asked about the reported book, Hines said, “I don’t know this person. Don’t know their intentions. I could guess, but I won’t. But you can if you want.”
Us Weekly has reached out to Nuzzi’s team for comment.

In September 2024, Hines’ marriage was put under the microscope when reports surfaced that Kennedy allegedly engaged in a sexting affair with Nuzzi, who was acting as a New York magazine political reporter during the 2024 election season.
New York magazine published a public apology to its readers at the time, revealing that Nuzzi failed to disclose a “personal relationship” with an unnamed subject she profiled during her 2024 election coverage for the publication.
Neither New York magazine nor Nuzzi publicly named Kennedy, but multiple outlets reported that the subject in question was Kennedy.
“The relationship was never physical but should have been disclosed to prevent the appearance of a conflict,” Nuzzi — who is now a West Coast editor for Vanity Fair — later said in a statement to The New York Times. “I deeply regret not doing so immediately and apologize to those I’ve disappointed, especially my colleagues at New York.”
A rep for Kennedy also told NBC News, “Mr. Kennedy only met Olivia Nuzzi once in his life for an interview she requested, which yielded a hit piece.”
Inside Cheryl Hines’ Hollywood Friendships Amid Her Marriage to RFK Jr.
Despite all the chatter surrounding her marriage, Hines — who recently released her own book titled Unscripted — continues to stand by her husband, who currently serves as the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
“I don’t think there’s any point to going through every rumor and headline to try to defend or explain it,” Hines told the Wall Street Journal in August. “Bobby and I talk about everything, so that’s how we move through everything, and we’re really good friends, and we trust each other.”
The actress added, “One would deduce that we love each other and are still married and whatever we’ve been through is behind us.”
