Susan Boyle had Us do a double-take with her transformation.

Boyle, 64, shocked fans with a major makeover while making a rare red carpet appearance at the Pride of Britain Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London earlier this week. For the event, she stepped out in a black-and-white look featuring a floor-length dress complete with a dark floral print, a V-neck and long sleeves. The Britain’s Got Talent alum styled the number with a black fur shawl, patent leather heels and a charcoal clutch.

Boyle further accessorized with a pearl necklace and matching bracelets. She added a pop of color to her look with a red manicure.

The most noteworthy part of her look was her glam and new hairdo. Boyle, who was known for having short, curly brunette strands, showed off blonde tresses that were grown out to her chin and straightened, as well as bangs cut slightly above her eyebrows.

Boyle tied her look together with a full beat, including dewy foundation, bronzed cheeks, a touch of blush, mascara, filled-in eyebrows and pink lips.

Fans went wild over her new ‘do via social media on Thursday, October 23. “I am so happy for this lady! She wowed me when I first heard her!” one gushed, while another added, “Wow. Damn.” A third wrote, “From meme to majesty? That’s how you own a narrative.”

Boyle first made a name for herself while auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent in 2009. At the time, her brunette hair was cut to her chin with baby bangs and styled in tight curls. She wore a gold lace-embellished dress. When she stepped out on stage, Simon Cowell asked her how old she was, to which Boyle replied, “47.” He then gave the other judges, Amanda Holden, and Piers Morgan, who widened their eyes.

After she sang Les Misérables’ “I Dreamed a Dream,” Boyle received a standing ovation and three “yes’” from the judges.

“Without a doubt, that was the biggest surprise I have had in three years of the show,” Morgan, 60, said while judging her performance. “Everyone was laughing at you. No one is laughing now. That was stunning! An incredible performance. I’m shocked.”

Holden, 54, agreed. “I am so thrilled because I know that everybody was against you. I honestly think that we were being very cynical and I think that’s the biggest wakeup call ever. It was a complete privilege listening to that.”

Cowell, 66, joked that he “knew” Boyle was going to be a hit.

Throughout the season, Boyle started to step up her glam game by blowing out her coils and parting her mane to the side.

During episode 26, she opted for a full glam look with her hair neatly styled in a voluminous blowout. She donned blushed cheeks, long lashes and manicured eyebrows. Boyle kept her look elegant with a black dress featuring a square neckline, three-quarter length sleeves and a fitted silhouette. She topped off her ensemble with a diamond necklace.

Boyle ended up placing second in the season, with the street dance troupe Diversity winning.
