I believe Question 1 is a bad proposal for Maine. They are trying to combine two things into one and by doing so they would eliminate a large portion of the absentee voting that takes place in the state.

There were more than 370,000 absentee votes in 2024 and many of those could be eliminated if this nonsense passes. Vote “no” on Question 1.

Voter ID should be a separate referendum and not combined with absentee balloting. Don’t let them trick you into passing this referendum. Vote “no” on Question 1 and save the absentee balloting system so that hundreds of thousands of Mainers can have the right to vote by using the absentee ballot.
