Flames and smoke reached high into the night sky as firefighters from Owls Head, South Thomaston, Thomaston, St. George, Warren, Rockland and Rockport arrived at the scene. Tankers arrived with water and portable water supply containers were set up on North Shore Drive while tankers were filling at the intersection of Ash Point Drive and North Shore Drive.
Explosions occurred several times as the fire spread through the structure. One vehicle was inside the building and another outside was also burned.
