Colleen Hoover is taking sides.
The author, 45, took to social media to promote Britney Spears‘ 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, on Tuesday, October 21, the same day that the pop star’s ex-husband Kevin Federline released his own tell-all, You Thought You Knew.
“Let’s get this baby to number 1!” Hoover wrote via Facebook alongside an Amazon link to Spears’ book.
In the comments section, fans rallied behind Spears, 43 — and Hoover’s campaign.

“Already have the audible, purchasing a physical copy to show more support,” one Facebook user wrote.
“I read it when it first came out, just checked it out from the library. Had the hubby buy it today to support her!” another shared.
A third fan wrote to Hoover, “Love to see you supporting Britney!! She’s been through so Much.”
This is not the first time that Hoover has shown love to Spears. The 2024 film adaptation of her bestselling novel It Ends With Us included a cover of the Grammy winner’s 2003 single “Everytime.”

In addition, It Ends With Us star Blake Lively famously wore Spears’ 2002 Versace dress to the movie’s New York City premiere.
“The ultimate queen who made us all want to sparkle and write and share our stories,” Lively, 38, wrote of Spears via her Instagram Story at the time. “Britney, us millennials all have a story of a moment, or of years that you made us want to shine and inspire awe, with strength, and joy and immensely hard work. Spears’ memoir, which is currently being developed into a biopic directed by Wicked‘s Jon M. Chu, candidly chronicled her inimitable music career, 13-year conservatorship and romantic relationships with Federline, Justin Timberlake and others.
The critically acclaimed tell-all sold a whopping 1.1 million copies in the U.S. alone during its first week out, sending it to the top of The New York Times‘ bestseller list. Meanwhile, its audiobook, narrated by actress Michelle Williams, became publisher Gallery Books’ fastest-selling release of all time.

The paperback edition of The Woman in Me is set to hit stores on December 2, which is also Spears’ 44th birthday. A source tells Us Weekly that it “will not include any new material.”
Like Hoover, Spears plugged her own memoir via Facebook on Tuesday after Federline’s tell-all dropped, writing, “If you’re looking for a good book to read, make sure to check this one out.”
You Thought You Knew has received mixed reviews, with many Spears fans questioning Federline’s motive for sharing stories about his ex-wife’s alleged drug use, mental health struggles and rocky relationship with their two sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19.
Federline, 47, defended himself in a recent interview with Us, saying in part, “I’ve sat back and watched people tell my story through a different lens for 20 years. I focused on my family, focused on my kids, focused on making sure that we were doing right by them — and everybody involved, really. I wanted my kids to be old enough to understand it was time for me to tell my story, time for me to finally come forward and put my life in perspective.”
Spears, on the other hand, has accused Federline of using her name to make money after her $40,000-a-month child support checks to him ran out last year.
“Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank,” she wrote via X last week, “and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here.”
