But Nicole Kidman delivers an incredible portrayal of the iconic comedienne, while Javier Bardem captures the charisma and complexity of her husband, the singer and producer who helped shape her career.

Olivia Williams stars as the brilliant writer, whose literary achievements are constantly scrutinized alongside her unmarried status — even by her sister Cassandra (Greta Scacchi) and niece Fanny (Imogen Poots).
