Vanessa Kirby is a mom!
The Fantastic Four: First Steps actress, 37, has welcomed her first child with retired lacrosse player Paul Rabil, as announced by the sportsman in an Instagram post on Sunday, October 19.
Rabil, 39, posted several photos of the newborn on Sunday, including a picture of the little one resting on his father’s bare chest. In another snap, Kirby is seen lying with the baby on a bed, while another picture features a closeup of the baby’s foot.
Rabil concluded the slideshow with a photo of two lacrosse sticks.

“I’m learning that becoming a parent slows you down and wakes you up at the same time,” the athlete turned sports executive captioned the post. “That I’m really grateful for everyone’s health, that I get to wake up every day to mum’s enormous love, and that we get to have you in our lives now.”
“For your first cradle stick. It’ll hold many stories and blessings. Likely broken windows too. Balls are allowed in the house 🤍,” Rabil added in the caption.
The couple have yet to confirm the baby’s name or sex.
Kirby confirmed her pregnancy when she showed off her baby bump at a Fantastic Four: First Steps red carpet event at the CCXPMX Film Festival in Mexico City in May.
A month later, Rabil addressed the news in an Instagram post. “Some news…life’s greatest adventure is beginning soon. We’re very grateful for your love and support. Especially the advice. Mum’s a superhero. I’m just really lucky,” he captioned a photo of his partner’s baby bump.
Kirby and Rabil were first linked in October 2022. He confirmed their relationship more than a year later in a November 2023 Instagram post featuring photos of the couple. “From the very minute we first met in des moines, around the world and back, life is far better, more purposeful and more beautiful with you ❤️,” he wrote.
In July, the Crown actress opened up about wearing a prosthetic baby bump in the latest Marvel Studios blockbuster, which she said was heavier than her own bump.
“I honestly think a lot of people think it’s a stunt of some kind. It’s just crazy timing,” Kirby said of her real-life pregnancy.

“Essentially, the fake belly is like a foam thing. When it’s a foam, it feels very light and a bit silly. So I kept saying to Flick, who looks after my costume, ‘I want more. It needs to be heavier,’” she said during a July episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers.
“So we would try all these different things and eventually she kind of put heavy rice packets in the belly and it got so heavy, [and] I got really bad backache,” she said, per People. “And actually it’s nothing like this. This is way lighter. So, I gave myself backache for no reason at all.”
Kirby starred alongside Pedro Pascal, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, playing Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman. She is set to reprise the part in Avengers: Doomsday, which is set for release in December 2026.
