Nottingham Forest head coach Ange Postecoglou has been sacked by the Premier League club after just eight games in charge of the team.
Postecoglou’s last match ended in a 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea on Saturday, the sixth loss of his short tenure in all competitions.
The 60-year-old Australian was appointed on 9 September following the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo and four months after guiding Tottenham to the Europa League.
Less than 20 minutes after the defeat at the City Ground, Forest posted a statement on X saying he had been dismissed after “a series of disappointing results and performances”.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis left his seat midway through the contest.
He lasted just 39 days at Forest, making him the shortest-serving manager of a Premier League side, after serving one day fewer than Les Reed at Charlton in November and December 2006.
It means Forest are looking for their third manager already this season.
