Millie Bobby Brown is opening up for the first time following the news that she and husband Jake Bongiovi adopted a baby girl.
While playing a game with TIME and her Stranger Things castmates on Thursday, October 16, Brown, 21, revealed her daughter is the one thing she can’t live without after Noah Schnapp thought the answer was Bongiovi, 23.
“But it’s the same thing, ” Brown acknowledged. “Without her, there’s no him. It’s the same thing.”
The couple shared on social media in August that they welcomed a baby girl via adoption.

“This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,” Brown and Bongiovi wrote in a joint Instagram statement. “We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were 3. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi.”
The Stranger Things actress, who tied the knot with Bongiovi in May 2024, previously said earlier this year that she is looking forward to starting a family with her husband.
“My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19,” she said on an episode of the “Smartless” podcast in March. “And you know, it’s been my thing since before I met Jake. Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.”

Brown noted that Bongiovi “knows how important it is” for her to have a child soon.
“I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family for me personally,” she said at the time. “It’s a huge thing. Jake was like, we cannot do that until we get married. So that was his thing.”
Since she and Bongiovi both come from big families, Brown explained that she really wants a “big family.”

“I’m one of four. He’s one of four. So, it is definitely in our future, but, for me, I don’t see having your own child, you know, as really any different as in adopting,” she noted, adding she would love to welcome a baby in any way. “My home is full of love for anyone and anything, and so that is what we kind of stand by, Jake and I, is our energy in the house is the door is always open, and we want everyone to feel really comfortable.”
Brown and Bongiovi tied the knot in a secret ceremony in May 2024 after two years of dating.

“It was a very low-key, romantic affair with their closest family with them as they said their vows,” The Sun reported.
Later that year, the pair had a second wedding celebration in Italy.

The actress and Bongiovi — who is the son of Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley — started dating in summer 2021 and revealed their engagement in April 2023.
“As soon as we spoke I knew he was going to be a huge part of my life. After we met we knew we never wanted to leave each other’s side,” Brown told The Sunday Times in August 2023, adding that it’s hard to “pinpoint” when she knew Bongiovi was The One, but she had no doubts about it. “It’s just the feeling of knowing that that’s the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.”
