As you settle in under your cozy blanket to enjoy the crisper fall weather, you may find yourself wondering what to pull up from your many streaming options.

This month, the Watch With Us team is recommending some underrated TV shows on Netflix that may not have lasted for many seasons but left a long-lasting impression on our hearts.

Featuring actors like Jonathan Bailey and Tim Robinson, these shows are clever, creative and full of surprises.

Whether you’re looking for hilarious comedy or spine-chilling suspense, these hidden gems are worth adding to your October 2025 watchlist.

‘Detroiters’ (2017–2018)

If you’re excited for Tim Robinson’s new HBO series The Chair Company and got hooked on his work during the I Think You Should Leave years, there’s a chance you’ve never seen his first show, Detroiters. Robinson and cocreator Sam Richardson (Veep, Ted Lasso) star as best friends and creative partners at a small advertising agency trying to sell low-budget TV commercials to local businesses in Detroit.

23 Must-Watch Netflix Sitcoms to Stream Right Now (October 2025)

Full of goofy humor and surprisingly heartfelt moments, Detroiters leans on the effortless chemistry between Richardson and Robinson as two lovable, well-meaning buffoons whose big dreams always exceed their modest means. The show celebrates friendship, community and optimism amid struggle — all with a Midwestern sensibility that feels genuine and fresh. Its cancellation after two short seasons was a huge loss, but that only makes it easier to binge this overlooked comedy in a single weekend.

‘Crashing’ (2016)

Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jonathan Bailey costar in this wildly underrated British sitcom about a group of twenty-somethings living as “property guardians” in an abandoned hospital in exchange for cheap rent. Though Crashing was canceled after only one short season, its six uproariously funny episodes make it a perfect quick binge for a chilly October afternoon.

22 Must-Watch Sitcoms on Hulu Right Now (October 2025): ‘Chad Powers’ and More

Like Fleabag, which Waller-Bridge would go on to create next, Crashing uses sharp dialogue and awkward humor to explore complicated feelings about love, loneliness and the search for stability in your 20s. Every character feels distinct and painfully relatable, from Bailey’s sex-obsessed Sam to Waller-Bridge’s chaotic, free-spirited Lulu. The show’s short run only adds to its bittersweet charm — you’ll wish there were more.

‘Archive 81’ (2022)

Another gone-too-soon gem, Archive 81 is a Netflix original based on the hit horror podcast of the same name. It follows Dan Turner (Mamoudou Athie), a video archivist hired to restore footage from a building that was destroyed in a mysterious fire. As he digs deeper into the recordings of researcher Melody Pendras (Dina Shihabi), who died in the blaze before completing her PhD, Dan begins uncovering disturbing connections between her investigation and his own past.

4 Best Crime and Mystery Shows on Netflix (September 2025)

Equal parts mystery, supernatural thriller and emotional character study, Archive 81 builds a haunting sense of dread that slowly morphs into something cosmic and surreal. Its eerie atmosphere, analog horror aesthetic and layered storytelling make it a must-watch for anyone who misses The X-Files or The OA. Despite being canceled after just one season, the show continues to earn cult status — and it’s the perfect eerie binge for spooky season.
