Kim Kardashian left (almost) nothing on the table when sitting down for a tell-all interview on “Call Her Daddy” — especially when it came to details about her past relationship with Kanye West.
“When you have kids, it’s definitely harder to leave than it is to stay,” Kardashian, 44, said during the podcast episode, released on Wednesday, October 15. “It changes everyone’s life, forever.”
Kardashian married West in 2014 and they welcomed four kids, North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5, during their marriage. The reality star filed for divorce in 2021 and their split was finalized the following year.
Kardashian admitted that “maybe” she “wasn’t paying attention” to any negative signs in her marriage but the split wasn’t an easy decision.
“When someone has their first mental break, you want to be super supportive and you want to help figure that out,” she said. “When someone isn’t willing to make changes that, I think, would be super healthy and beneficial, it makes it really hard to continue on in a relationship that can be toxic.”

Initially, Kardashian said she wanted to “believe that for a little bit” things would get better but her kids helped make the final decision to leave.
“Ince my mental health starts to get affected and then I can’t parent the way that I need to and I can’t be present and focused. There’s got to be one of us that can,” Kardashian explained. “I had to save myself in order to be a better mom for everyone.”

If I insured them, then I can just claim them, and then I could have gotten my money back, but I hadn’t insured them. I got them that week.”

“There were so many times where I was just really quiet and just trying to figure it all out,” she said, noting that the “extra pressure” of being in a public relationship made it more difficult to navigate.
“An over a decade relationship with four beautiful children is not a failure,” Kardashian continued. “You can’t think that way. You can’t live that way. You can’t worry about what everyone’s going to say and I have to come home to myself and I have to be happy.”
As for the last time she and the kids heard from West? Kardashian said it had been “a couple of months.”

“I have my kids to raise, I have a life that requires a lot of my attention and my kids just really need me right now,” she explained. “I don’t know how I would fit something else in. So I’m just not looking and it would have to be someone super special for me.”
