Kim Kardashian is just doing her best when it comes to coparenting with ex-husband Kanye West.
“What do you think coparenting with Kanye West is like?” Kardashian, 44, asked “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper during the podcast’s Wednesday, October 15, episode. “It’s not easy.”
Kardashian and West, 48, welcomed four kids — North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5 — during their marriage, which lasted from 2014 to 2021. Their divorce was finalized the following year.
Kardashian confirmed that she has all four children “full-time” following her and West’s split but does encourage them to see their father.
“They live with me, and I welcome a great, healthy relationship with my kids and their dad. And I think he knows that,” Kardashian said during Wednesday’s podcast. “I push for it all the time, but I also protect them when it’s time for that. It goes in waves and phases, and it’s a lot of work.”

Kardashian said West sees the kids “whenever he’ll call” and asks for them.
“It’s probably been a couple [of] months since we’ve heard from him,” she said, noting that the kids are aware of West’s “big life” traveling and touring. “We manage it really well.”
Kardashian said the kids “love their life” and are used to their routine — so that’s what she focuses on.
“It’s not easy, no matter what, coparenting with anyone. I think that the one thing that just gets me is that there’s this narrative that I keep the kids away from him,” the Skims cofounder said. “I’ve never once done that.”
She added, “The narrative that I think it’s all good and we’re living our life and then I just wake up and there’s all these tweets about how I’ve kidnapped the kids and I’m like, ‘It’s not a kidnapping, it’s a divorce.’”
The reality star clarified that “every time” West has asked to see their kids, she has let him.
“That’s just who I am,” she added. “If there’s a time where it’s just really super unhealthy, I will say, ‘Hey, let’s do it here at my house or let’s figure out a different time.’ But actually, when he is like that, he doesn’t really want to see the kids a lot. If he’s having a hard time, he doesn’t.”

She noted that the arrangement has “always worked out.”
“He lives in all these different countries and I send them … all over the world every time he asks. I’ve never once denied it,” Kardashian continued. “No, I don’t keep the kids. I think that that narrative really sucks for me.”
Kardashian explained that she “grew up so different” with her own parents’ divorce, so she knows that she and West can “still be in each other’s lives” despite their breakup.
“When the time is right,” she added. “My mom would always say, you got to give it five years of being divorced before everything really comes together and everyone can coexist and be friends. It’s not going to be like that for the first few years.”
