A 16-year-old girl is in critical condition after a collision with one pickup truck and then another as she was turning into her driveway.
The crash was reported at about 9:20 a.m. Sunday on Northfield Road (Route 192) in the Washington County town of Northfield.
Based on a preliminary investigation, Maine State Police said the 16-year-old was making a left turn into her driveway from the northbound lane of Route 192 when her Honda Accord and a southbound GMC pickup truck driven by Perin Yates, 50, of East Machias collided in the southbound lane.
After the collision, the Honda spun out and hit another GMC pickup truck driven by Aaron Getchell, 43, of Whitneyville who was following behind, police said.
Both Yates and the 16-year-old driver were transported to a local hospital. The 16-year-old driver is in critical condition but is expected to survive, police said. Getchell was not injured.
Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
