19 Kids and Counting alum Amy Duggar King has found peace in her life thanks to husband Dillon King.
In her October 2025 memoir, Holy Disruptor, Amy looked back on the early days of her relationship with Dillon, whom she met in a bar through friends. “I expected Dillon to throw out some kind of pickup line, but instead, he insulted me!” she wrote. “He looked me up and down and said, ‘What the heck are you wearing?’ … I laughed, surprised and amused.”
At the time, Amy believed Dillon was “definitely not boyfriend material” because he was “a ladies’ man.” The pair kept things “purely platonic” at first — but the more they got to know each other, the more Amy’s feelings grew.
The couple exchanged vows in September 2025 and welcomed their son, Daxton, four years later. “I got to marry my best friend that day,” Amy wrote in her book while reflecting on her wedding day. “It was the best decision I’ve ever made.”

Amy celebrated the pair’s fifth wedding anniversary with a photo from their big day. “♡ 5 years ago today♡ … I’m not going to paint a picture that our marriage is just so perfect without its flaws. Because let’s be honest here people no marriage (especially how cute/edited Instagram) is!” she wrote in the caption. “We work through problems all the time, we talk, we try our hardest to communicate and then we forgive and make up! We don’t always put the Lord first and we are working on that. Marriage is really just one big dance, reguardless [sic] of the ups and downs, countless conversations, the tears, the kisses, the stress at times. You still have my heart and I still choose you Dillon King. I wouldn’t want to dance with anyone else.”
2025
While celebrating Dillon’s birthday in April, Amy revealed that her husband was “facing some possible life threatening medical concerns.” Later that month, Amy explained that Dillon had a diaphragmatic rupture which “caused vital organs, including his kidney and parts of his digestive system, to shift into his chest cavity.”
As the pair prepared to mark 10 years of marriage that fall, Amy gave Us an exclusive update on her husband’s health. “We’ve changed his diet … and he’s doing a lot better,” she told Us, noting that doctors found Dillon has celiac disease. “He’s not in as much pain. He’s doing a lot better, but it is something we’re still monitoring and trying to figure out the next steps, because more than likely he will need surgery at some point.”
