Demi Lovato’s ex-fiancé Max Ehrich has been arrested for domestic violence, Us Weekly confirmed.
Ehrich, 34, was arrested on Tuesday, October 7, on one count of battery on a person 65 years of age or older, according to court records viewed by Us.
TMZ was the first to report the news. A law enforcement source told the outlet that the charge came after an alleged incident involving a family member.
The Young and the Restless star posted $1,000 bond and was released from jail on Wednesday, October 8, the outlet reported.

Us confirmed in March 2020 that Ehrich and Lovato, 33, were dating shortly after they sparked romance rumors by exchanging flirty messages via social media. A source told Us at the time that the pair had met “a few weeks ago” and their relationship was off to a strong start.
The relationship heated up quickly, with Ehrich and Lovato quarantining together at the Camp Rock star’s house in California during the coronavirus pandemic. An insider told Us that the former couple was “getting really serious.”
“The quarantine has been really great for Demi and [she] and Max have gotten so close,” the source said at the time. “[She’s] doing a great job at staying sober, healthy and taking care of [herself].”

Ehrich and Lovato got engaged in July 2020 after just four months of dating.
“@maxehrich – I knew I loved you the moment I met you,” Lovato wrote on Instagram at the time. “It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all. You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!!”
However, the whirlwind engagement didn’t last, as the two called it quits in September 2020, Us confirmed at the time.

Lovato, who tied the knot with Jordan “Jutes” Lutes in May, reflected on her split from Ehrich in her 2021 YouTube documentary, Dancing With the Devil.
“What happened? I think I rushed into something that I thought was what I was supposed to do. I realized as time went on that I didn’t actually know the person that I was engaged to,” she said.
Lovato added that their quarantining together “accelerated [the relationship].”
“I didn’t even have my best friends to hang out with in quarantine,” she explained.
As for her feelings about the split, Lovato said, “The hardest part of the breakup was mourning the person that I thought he was … but I’m not the only one who felt fooled. I was just as shocked as the rest of the world at some of the things that were said and done.”
