
Another beautiful warm fall day, a nice breeze blew across the Medomak Valley High School field, what a perfect day for some soccer. MVHS took this awesome day and ran with it.
With only one minute and 10 seconds gone off the clock, Medomak scored their first of many goals. Scarlett Flint took a shot, Oceanside goalie Abby Stackpole made the save, which the ball was fought for by Rachel Richardson and Richardson won, scoring the first goal for Medomak. It was a scrappy fight, Richardson and Stackpole, Richardson winning with the ball in the goal. Medomak led 1-0.
A little less than 8 minutes later Medomak scored again this time off a corner kick from Haylee Chandler where Grace Townsend covered her kick into the back of the net increasing MVHS lead to 2-0.
Three minutes later Medomak answered again with another goal, this time Richardson had a long pass and Flint capitalized and scored giving Medomak a 3-0 lead with only 12 minutes off the clock.
Medomak continued to battle and keep the pressure on. Medomak scored again just under the 26 minute mark off a cross from Flint to Chandler. Chandler took a deep long shot and into the back of the net the ball went increasing MVHS lead to 4 to 0.
Two minutes later MVHS scored again giving themselves a 5 to 0 lead. This goal came from a drop pass from Grace Havener to Summer Staples. Staples dribbled it up and drove the ball past the keeper.
One and a half minutes later Medomak scored again for the 6th time, another corner kick from Chandler where Flint headed the ball in giving Medomak the lead 6 to 0.
About 11 and a half minutes later Oceanside was able to find the net scoring was Lyla Tolman off a direct kick making it 6-1 at the half.
Medomak, feeling good and playing great, came out for the second half and did not back down. Again about two minutes into the half, Anna Cheesman brought the ball back out and passed to Staples, where she converted the pass to a goal. Medomak led 7-1.
About 16 minutes later Medomak scored again Chandler sent a through ball to Flint, where Flint retrieved the ball and scored low and away increasing the lead 8-1.
About four minutes later Medomak scored for the last time, mercying Oceanside 9-1 off a long ball from Chandler to Flint and Flint scored her third goal of the game. Hat trick to her while Chandler picked up her fourth assist of the night, ending the game, Medomak 9, Oceanside 1.
Abby Stackpole, goalie for Oceanside, had nine saves in the first half and three in the second. There were 20 shots for Medomak.
Chloe Fox, goalie for Medomak, had three saves out of the five total shots.
Medomak had three corner kicks and five direct kicks. Oceanside had no corner kicks and only three direct kicks.
Junior varsity game
Again it was a night for Medomak. The JV team continued the thread that the varsity team set up for them and they pounced on the game ball scoring once in the first half to give them a lead of 1-0 at the half. Then found the back of the net again in the second half to end the game 2-0.
The first goal was scored by Eliza Prock on a great cross pass from Autumn Holub. The second goal was scored by Eva Vanoy, a loan goal on her part. Medomak had a great night of soccer.
