Travis Kelce criticized Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown for taking to social media with a thinly-veiled message about his lack of production to start the 2025 NFL season.
Despite the Eagles starting the season with a perfect record through four weeks, Brown, 28, has only been targeted 28 times for 14 receptions and one touchdown.
After the Eagles’ 31-25 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, September 28, Brown posted a line from the New Testament via X.
“If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw,” the post read. “Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.”

Kelce, 35, responded to the post on the Wednesday, October 1, episode of his “New Heights” podcast.
“You’re 4-0, boss,” Kelce said. “Come on, man.”
Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, pushed back a bit and said he “disagreed” slightly with his brother. Jason, 37, played the final two seasons of his career with Brown in Philadelphia.
“I don’t think that it’s unfathomable that a player of A.J. Brown’s caliber — I think that he should be upset that he’s not being utilized in this offense,” Jason said. “I think that is a normal feeling, and I think he should feel comfortable explicitly saying that to the players and coaches within that locker room. I do. I don’t think that’s a dick move, a selfish move. A.J. knows the level of player he is and what he can do to offenses.”
Jason added, “Are there better ways to do this than by tweeting it out? Potentially.”
“To each his own,” Travis said with a tinge of sarcasm.
Jason explained the solution to Brown’s dilemma isn’t as simple as “just throw the ball to A.J. Brown more.”
Travis agreed, “That’s not how this thing works in the NFL.”
“It’s frustrating for A.J. right now, clearly, because he’s going to social media to let everybody know how frustrated he is,” Travis said. “It’s also really hard for me to get mad when we’re winning. I don’t find that energy or that feeling in me if we’re winning, if we’re having success, if we’re putting up points, if we’re winning football games.”
Travis added, “I can’t say that I’ve never gotten frustrated and lashed out and done something to let everyone know this is how I feel about it. We all love the f***ing game. We all want to win and we all want to have fun doing it.”

Brown attempted to smooth things over during a meeting with reporters on Wednesday.
“First off, I want to start off by saying, obviously, Sunday after the game, I let my frustrations boil over,” Brown said. “I didn’t speak to the media. I had a chance to correct my frustrations, and I continued to let it boil over. That’s on me. You know, I take full accountability on that.”
He added, “My message on Twitter wasn’t directed at anyone in the building, not my coaches, not my quarterback, my G.M., nobody.”
The Eagles return to action on Sunday, October 5, when they host the Denver Broncos.
