Sky has announced its new flagship breakfast show – Mornings with Ridge and Frost – which will be fronted by award-winning journalists Sophy Ridge and Wilfred Frost.

The pair will host the new Sky News morning programme launching this autumn from 3 November.

Alongside the live show, there will also be a new daily podcast – Cheat Sheet with Ridge and Frost – a 10-minute news rundown of the day’s top stories and headlines.

Ridge previously hosted the Politics Hub with Sophy Ridge and was the first woman to present a Sunday morning political programme, Sophy Ridge on Sunday, from 2017 to 2023.

She said: “Presenting our morning programme is a real pinch yourself moment, and I can’t think of anyone better to be doing it with than Wilf.

“For me, it’s about news making interviews and making sense of the big stories – but also having conversations that feel real, human, and actually matter to people’s everyday lives.”

Frost previously presented Sky News Breakfast and Sky News Today and is a contributor for CNBC, NBC News and MSNBC.

He said: “It’s a privilege to launch a brand new morning show on Sky News – especially to be partnering with Sophy. We’ve had such fun shaping the show with our brilliant team, and I can’t wait for viewers to be part of the ride and help them make sense of what’s going on in the world each morning.”

The show will extend across digital and social platforms, with bespoke video content, and audiences will have the opportunity to join the conversation in real time via WhatsApp, social media platforms and email.

Ridge and Frost will present the morning show from Monday to Thursday.

Anna Jones and Kamali Melbourne, two of the channel’s most popular long-standing presenters, will front Mornings on Sky News from Friday to Sunday.

Gareth Barlow will present the wraparound coverage between 6am and 7am and 10am to 1pm.

Following the success of the Sky News Money newsletter launched earlier this year, a morning newsletter is also in development.

David Rhodes, executive chairman of Sky News, said: “Sophy and Wilf will bring the best of our news report to viewers across the country and around the world – wherever they choose to get their news.

“Drawing on their experience covering politics, business, and global affairs, they’ll offer the sharpest take available anywhere, each morning.

“We’ve talked about premium products built for the digital future – that’s just what Mornings with Ridge and Frost represents.”

Mornings will air weekdays from 7am to 10am on Sky News, with Cheat Sheet with Ridge and Frost dropping weekdays from 6am on all podcast platforms
