Sullivan’s Crossing is making some casting changes that seem to hint at a new direction for the show following that secret husband twist.

News broke on Friday, September 26, that the hit series is expanding its cast with series regulars Fuad Ahmed, Jonathan Silverman, Colby Frost and Emerson MacNeil. The latest round of newcomers join Marcus Rosner, who was also brought on as a series regular for season 4.

Ahmed is playing Amir, who according to the character synopsis is the “youngest chef ever to be awarded a Michelin star.”

“The charming and charismatic Amir has left his fancy New York City bistro for the Crossing to see his friend Rob [Reid Price],” the description continued. “But his arrival threatens to upend Rob and Sydney’s [Lindura] working relationship.”

Meet the Season 4 Cast of ‘Sullivan’s Crossing’ After Secret Husband Reveal

Silverman was cast as Quincy, “a prickly camper at the Crossing with a stressful job that’s wearing him thin, causing him to be prone to quick irritation and mistrust. But despite his testy exterior, Quincy and Maggie [Morgan Kohan] might find common ground, and could learn from one another’s experiences.”

Lola (Amalia Williamson) is crossing paths with Frost’s Ben Nelson, who “takes a job at Lola’s youth group to help support his family while being there for his little sister, Tracy. Reminding Cal [Chad Michael Murray] a lot of himself, Ben finds an unexpected mentor who will send his life in a new direction.”

Speaking of Tracy, the preteen “feels like the world around her is in a constant upheaval, but the member of Lola’s youth group finds stability in her two constants, her artwork and her protective big brother, Ben.”

Based on the book series by Robyn Carr, Sullivan’s Crossing follows neurosurgeon Maggie (Kohan) after she moves back home to rural Nova Scotia to reconnect with her estranged father, Sully (Scott Patterson). The brief getaway turns into Maggie making plans for a future in Sullivan’s Crossing with love interest Cal (Murray).

Which ‘Sullivan’s Crossing’ Stars Are — And Aren’t — Returning for Season 4?

Season 3 of the hit series, which started streaming on Netflix in August, threw a wrench in Maggie and Cal’s relationship just as they were getting to a good place. After arguing about whether Maggie was taking things too slow, they made plans to move in together — just as a new guest named Liam checked into Sullivan’s Crossing.

Liam then approached Maggie and revealed he was her husband, which came as a surprise to both Cal and Us. Showrunner Roma Roth later teased what viewers could expect from the show moving forward after the shocking reveal.

“I’m absolutely thrilled that Sullivan’s Crossing is returning for a fourth season,” Roth said in a statement after the finale aired. “Seeing it resonate with a global audience and watching the ratings climb have been a dream come true. Season 4 will explore themes of change and transformation so you can expect a whole new set of exciting and emotional challenges for Maggie and Cal.”

Sullivan’s Crossing is currently streaming on Netflix.
