A Turner man died early Saturday morning after he fell into the Niagara River in western New York.
Edward Lachapelle, 61, was on his boat docked near the Sandy Beach Yacht Club in Grand Island about 12:20 a.m. when he fell into the river, according to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
First responders and bystanders searched the water for Lachapelle, and his body was found about an hour later more than 100 yards from where he fell into the water, the sheriff’s office said.
