Dolly Parton is pushing back her Las Vegas shows by nearly a year due to her health.
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” the legendary country music singer, 79, said in a written statement shared via Instagram on Sunday, September 28. “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”
She continued, “In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”
Parton went on to assure her many fans that despite the health-related reasons for the nearly year-long postponement, she will be “able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville.”

“I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say,” she continued in the same written statement. “And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe he is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with you all.”
Parton concluded her announcement by thanking her fans.
“I love you and thank you for understanding,” she wrote.
In the second slide, Parton shared the rescheduled dates for six of her Las Vegas shows previously scheduled for this upcoming December. The postponed shows will not take place in late September 2026.
The singer’s health struggles come in the wake of her husband Carl Dean’s death.
“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together,” Parton wrote via Instagram on March 3, confirming her husband’s death at 82. “Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.”

The same statement confirmed that the singer’s husband died in Nashville, and was subsequently laid to rest “in a private ceremony with immediate family attending.”
In January 2022, Parton exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about her decades-long marriage and what made the couple such a “perfect match.”
“We both have a great sense of humor,” she explained at the time. “We’re able to solve any problem and any situation, making a joke about it and not letting it get too heavy, but we respect each other and we like each other. We lucked up, let’s put it that way.”
She continued: “You know, most people can keep a marriage [going strong] if you make a little effort. Some people just get slouching and lazy and [it’s] about stuff that ain’t important, like leaving the toilet seat up. And if that’s the worst thing you’ve [got] to worry about, you’re already in trouble.”
