Below Deck Mediterranean‘s Aesha Scott has high hopes for season 10 after some over-the-top drama on the hit Bravo series in years past.

“There is so much that happens. Like, the viewers this whole entire season are going to be absolutely enthralled,” Aesha, 33, teased during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly ahead of the show’s Monday, September 29, return.

Aesha was thrilled by the shift following season 9, adding, “I feel like with last season, it was a lot of the same stuff. It was the love triangles, and there were a lot of themes that just extended over. Whereas this season, every single charter I was like, ‘What just happened? And now that happened.’”

She continued: “I was like, ‘The story God is shining upon us.’ Because so much kept happening. There was so [much] interesting [stuff], but it’s not toxic or gross stuff. It’s people’s real lives and family stories and just really interesting and often relatable stuff.”

A Guide to Below Deck’s Chief Stews: From Kate Chastain to Hannah Ferrier

Aesha has been a franchise staple since joining Below Deck Med during season 4 in 2019. She worked as a second stew under Hannah Ferrier’s reign before becoming the chief stew alongside Captain Jason Chambers on Below Deck Down Under for the first two seasons of the spinoff from 2022 to 2023.

After returning to her Below Deck Med roots during season 9, Aesha made it clear that she isn’t planning to keep jumping from spinoff to spinoff now that she’s settled.

“For a long time, you’re just waiting to hear [from] season to season. It definitely feels like I’m more of a set [stew] now, which is great,” she told Us. “It just works because Sandy and I are such a good team. People love our relationship and I’m so excited for people to just see that continue to grow.”

Captain Sandy Yawn, for her part, felt the same way.

Below Deck Mediterranean’s Biggest Drama Through the Years

“I’ve always felt settled. I think maybe the interior feels more settled [this season], to be honest. Also for me, I don’t have to worry. It’s not that I have to walk through and make sure [the stews are] doing their job and the guests are looked after,” she shared with Us ahead of Monday’s premiere. “Having Aesha on board just says everything is fine on the interior for me — unless someone is obviously pushing back against her.”

The captain is hopeful they will continue to lead the franchise, adding, “It’s always a pleasure having her. She’s the most kind individual I’ve ever met — besides [my wife]. So she’s pretty epic and I trust her. I trust her decisions and having that trust on board really makes a difference.”

In addition to Aesha and Sandy, season 10 brought back now-bosun Nathan Gallager and deckhand Max Salvador. The rest of the crew is made up of chef Josh Bingham, stews Kizzi Kitchener and Victoria SanJuan and deckhands Christian Trimino and Tessa Budd.

Below Deck Med premieres on Bravo Monday, September 29, at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
