Bad Bunny is officially headlining the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show in 2026.

In an Instagram announcement video shared by the musician, 31, on Sunday, September 28, the “Moscow Mule” hitmaker was seen dressed in a tailored suit as he gazed into the camera lens. As the video panned out, Bad Bunny, real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, was revealed to be perched on an NFL goalpost.

“Super Bowl LX. Bay Area. February 2026. #AppleMusicHalftime,” he captioned the teaser clip.

The highly anticipated news was also confirmed during the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys’ Sunday Night Football game, which aired on NBC.

Chargers QB Justin Herbert Reveals Pick for Super Bowl Halftime Show

In a statement issued to Billboard as news broke, Bad Bunny said that performing at the Super Bowl was an honor. “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” the statement read. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown … this is for my people, my culture and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

Leading up to the announcement, fans speculated Taylor Swift would be named the 2026 Super Bowl halftime performer after they spotted what they believed to be multiple Easter eggs during her debut on Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast in August.

Swift, 35, told listeners that she thinks about sourdough “60 percent of the time” since taking up bread baking as a hobby. Fans connected her statement to the 2026 Super Bowl, the NFL’s 60th, which is taking place at Levi’s Stadium, the home of the San Francisco 49ers, whose mascot is Sourdough Sam.

Swift also mentioned the number 47 twice, thanking Jason for “screaming for, like, 47 seconds” during her introduction and joking that she visited “47,000” countries during The Eras Tour. She just so happened to play her 47th concert of the tour at Levi’s Stadium in July 2023.

In keeping with the numerology theme, Swift’s favorite number is 13 — Super Bowl 2026 will occur during Travis’ 13th season in the NFL.

The fact that Swift reclaimed the masters of her first six albums in May added to the speculation, since her entire catalog would be legally available for a Super Bowl setlist.

Elsewhere in her podcast appearance, Swift specifically addressed her interest in past halftime shows.

Stars at the Super Bowl Through the Years: Taylor Swift and More

“I would go to sporting events so that I could sing the national anthem, like, everything was a means to an end to get to do music,” she said. “I know every halftime show from the Super Bowls, but I didn’t watch the sports.”

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell fueled the speculation about Swift’s potential Super Bowl performance even further during a September appearance on the Today show.

“We would love to have Taylor play,” he teased. “She is a special, special talent. And obviously she would be welcome at any time.”

When Savannah Guthrie pressed Goodell about whether a Swift-led halftime show was in the works, he replied, “I can’t tell you anything about that,” before adding, “it’s a maybe.”

Cardi B and More Celebrities Who Turned Down Super Bowl Appearances

Goodell also pointed out that Jay-Z — whose Roc Nation has produced the halftime show since 2020 — had a say in the decision.

“I’m waiting on my friend Jay-Z. It’s in his hands,” he said. “I’m waiting for the smoke to come out.”

Of the decision to get Bad Bunny on board, Jay-Z, 55, said per the statement shared with Billboard, “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

Earlier this year, Kendrick Lamar headlined the Super Bowl LIX halftime show at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans in February. The performance — which featured the rapper’s Drake diss track “Not Like Us,” duets of “Luther” and “All the Stars” with SZA and cameos by Samuel L. Jackson and Serena Williams — quickly went viral.

The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, February 8, 2025. The game and performance will air on NBC.
