Jim Edmonds fired back at his ex-wife Meghan King after she claimed he was “emotionally abusive” to police following a recent incident between the former The Real Housewives of Orange County star and his current wife, Kortnie Edmonds, Us Weekly can exclusively report.
On Wednesday, September 24, Jim’s rep told Us, “As usual, Meghan is telling tales. Her and Jim barely communicate, so if someone is emotionally abusing her, it’s not Jim.”
Jim’s rep also denied King’s claims to the police that she would have sole custody of their three kids in the near future.
“Jim is an active and present father to all his children. The unfortunate part of all this is that it’s the kids who suffer the most. Jim has always been willing to coparent in a respectful and productive way however Meghan has yet to reciprocate,” the rep added.
“Jim has a long history of consistently making decisions and acting in a way that is best for his kids.” (Meghan and Jim, 55, were married from October 2014 until the former MLB star filed for divorce in October 2019. They settled their divorce in May 2021. Jim and Meghan share an 8-year-old daughter, Aspen, and 7-year-old twins, Hart and Hayes. Jim and Kortnie wed in September 2022.)
As Us first reported, Kortnie called the police on King after an incident at Kortnie and Jim’s home on May 1.
The drama started after King showed up at Jim’s home to drop off a dress for their daughter. She claimed she spoke to Jim earlier, who asked her to bring the clothes. Kortnie claimed King showed up at the front door with the dress and asked to see her daughter. She said she told King her daughter was out with Jim and to leave the dress.
Kortnie said she closed the front door and walked back into her home. She said she then heard King calling for her daughter from inside the home.
Us obtained bodycam footage from the Frontenac Police Department showing officers speaking to King on the street near Jim’s Missouri home. While speaking to the police, King accused Jim of being “emotionally abusive” and said he uses his “name” and his “money” to “push me around.”

King claimed Jim was moving to Nashville and she would soon have primary custody of the children.
Kortnie initially said she wanted to press charges but later dropped the request. She filed for a restraining order but dropped the petition after working out a deal with King – where they agreed to avoid each other at events for the kids and King would not post about Kortnie on social media.

A source close to King previously told Us, “She is over this back and forth. She thinks it’s ridiculous. It was a very simple interaction that didn’t need police.”
The insider added, “Meghan is unfazed because she doesn’t want to escalate conflict. She just wants to take care of her family in peace.”
