The magic continues in the final trailer for Wicked: For Good, and fans are thrilled with the latest look at Ariana Grande’s Glinda and Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba.

The teaser, set to the songs “Thank Goodness” and “No Good Deed,” dropped on Wednesday, September 24, featuring Grande, 32, and Erivo, 38, navigating their lives after the latter exposed the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) as a fraud. Fans will get to see Glinda soak in the praise from the people of Oz and the origin of her famous pink bubble as she’s celebrated for being, well, good. Elphaba makes her grand appearance on her broom in the sky, writing “Our Wizard Lies” in the clouds.

Tensions rise as Glinda confronts Elphaba face-to-face. “You can wave that wand all you want, but you have no real power,” Elphaba tells her.

Elsewhere in the trailer, Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh) drums up a tornado (yes, the tornado) before Elphaba and Glinda reunite and seemingly put their differences aside to come up with a plan to save the animals and take down the Wizard. We also get another glimpse of the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man and the Scarecrow, who join Dorothy on her voyage to see The Wizard.

Prior to the trailer dropping, new character posters were released showing Glinda in all her glory in a blinged-out crown and shimmering pink gown. Elphaba, for her part, shined in a black outfit wearing the hat Glinda gifted her.

Marissa Bode, who plays Elphaba’s sister, Nessarose Thropp, previously teased to Us Weekly that the sequel will feature a time jump.

“There’s a time jump for sure, and I’m excited to see visually – because I haven’t really seen any of the footage yet – how the characters have changed for good or maybe not for good,” she told Us in February.

She also hinted that the film’s tone has a much gloomier shift than the events of the first film.

“Wicked 2 is definitely a lot darker in a lot of ways,” Bode, 25, noted. “So, I’m excited for that aspect of it.”

Bowen Yang, who plays Glinda’s friend Pfannee, similarly mentioned the time jump, without revealing any additional details about the plot.

“Right when we pick up, Glinda is in this very front-facing position. Pfannee and Shenshen (Bronwyn James) are at her side still, but a lot is in motion,” Yang, 34, told TODAY.com in December 2024. “The world has literally changed, and the landscape of it is very different. There is this campaign against this one person that they’re like the reason for all the problems in the world.

Wicked’s Marissa Bode Shares Lessons From Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande

He continued, “The story is so flexible with how it relates to our real world.”

One thing that fans can count on is the film keeping true to the second act of the Broadway musical on which it is based.

“I want to have the sanctity of the show. I love the show, so to me, that’s first and foremost,” director Jon M. Chu told TODAY.com. “It will be the DNA of what it is.”

Wicked: For Good will be released in theaters on November 21.
