Selma Blair may be best known for starring in classics like Cruel Intentions and Legally Blonde, but she’s recently added another impressive gig to her résumé.
The actress just teamed up with the doctor-developed Australian cosmeceutical skincare brand ESK to launch their latest product, Ultimate A Gold. The night cream is infused with clinically-backed agents like skin-strengthening niacinamide and retinal, which stimulates collagen without causing irritation. But this collaboration goes beyond a typical celebrity beauty deal.
Blair — who went public with her multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2018 — began a delicate skincare journey in 2011. “I went through a period of my life where my skin got really bad after my son [Arthur, 14] was born, and it wasn’t just reactive,” she tells Us exclusively. “It had rashes and burning and boils, and I would see all these doctors, and no one had any clear help for me.”
She finally found comfort after an aesthetician introduced her to a cleanser from ESK. “After a few days, I didn’t have the burning and the pulling and the tightness and the rosacea and the throbbing — my skin just responded really well to it.” Eventually, she met with the company’s founder Dr. Ginni Mansberg — the beginning of what became a true skincare match. “ESK really made a difference for me,” Blair says. “When I met Dr. Ginni, her knowledge was so impressive and inspiring and clear, and I felt really safe.”

One standout product for Blair is Repair+, a morning moisturizer that soothed her complexion and minimized the appearance of pores and hyperpigmentation. But the brand’s impact went deeper.
“It just came at the right time,” she says, calling the partnership “too good to be true.” For Blair, it was an opportunity to work with a team that “kind of helped save my confidence.”

Although the label is known for its anti-aging benefits, their offerings — and Blair — aren’t solely focused on fine lines and wrinkles. The activist is prioritizing barrier repair, hydration and cellular renewal. “I never minded aging. It was not something I thought about too much because I never really felt well in my life,” the actress reveals. “But once I did realize I was lucky enough to be aging, and aging in a more healthful way, it was time to tackle my skin and feel more confident.”
So, why should ESK’s premium formulas — particularly the new Ultimate A Gold — earn a spot on your beauty shelf? “We have come up with something that I think is pure gold,” says Mansberg. “[It] allows people to save time and save money [while giving] them barrier repair [and] anti-aging benefits — all in a single product. It turns out that what Selma wanted for her skin is what everybody [wants].”
