Dancing With the Stars season 34 couple Mark Ballas and Whitney Leavitt are still confused about what mishap judge Carrie Ann Inaba was referring to after their performance.
“I will watch [the dance] back tonight,” Mark, 39, exclusively told Us Weekly after the Tuesday, September 23, show. “Because honestly, it starts, you blink and then you’re in this space.”
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney, 32, admitted she thinks it was an issue with a “flexed foot,” which she claimed to have seen in a photo shared on the Dancing With the Stars Instagram account.
“It’s in the carousel that they posted and I was like, ‘Dear God, Mark’s going to lose his —,” Whitney said, while Mark added that the picture was from a rehearsal.

“I promise you,” Mark said. “If I see that flexed foot tonight, I’m posting it.”
After the duo performed a Cha-Cha to Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music,” Carrie Ann, 57, had one critique.

“Last week, you just lit up this ballroom. You just set this competition on fire. This week, you have done the same. You’re like an engine. In the beginning, I was like, ‘Oh, this is not as good as last week.’ Then it was like,” Carrie Ann continued, before whipping her head in a circle. “What is going on? But there was a tiny bit of a mistake in the middle. It looked like maybe we turned one way. Mark is never going to show it on his face, ever.”
The camera panned back to Whitney and Mark, who were seen laughing as they listened to her feedback. Despite the potential error, Whitney and Mark were safe from the double eliminations on One-Hit Wonder Night. (Corey Feldman and pro Jenna Johnson and Baron Davis and pro Britt Stewart were ultimately sent home on Tuesday.)

As the pair moves forward, Whitney said that her goal is “taking it one week at a time” and Mark agreed with the sentiment.
“I’ve been doing this a long time,” Mark explained. “You have to take it week by week. You have to do your best to get the rounds in. For Whitney too, she’s a mom. She’s got three kids. I am a dad too. But to do these dances, it requires a lot of stamina and it’s hard.”
Mark — who has taken home the mirrorball trophy three times — noted that ballroom dancing is difficult and he admires “everybody here in this cast” trying their hand at it.
“Everybody’s doing so well,” he said. “It’s so fun to watch. I’ve been doing this a long time. This is a really special cast to watch.”
Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
