A Saco man will spend the next 50 years behind bars for killing a Lewiston man.
Lorenze Labonte was found guilty of murder for the death of 27-year-old Ahmed Sharif in Biddeford on Nov. 24, 2023.
Labonte was sentenced Monday. Sharif was his sister’s boyfriend.
His sister, Ariana Tito, is serving eight years for elevated aggravated assault with the use of a firearm and tampering with a witness. The attempted murder charge was dropped as part of a plea deal.
Tito shot her brother’s fiancée the morning after her brother’s arrest. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to her cheek that exited her neck. According to court documents, Tito shot the woman so she would keep quiet about her brother’s case.
Labonte has a long criminal record spanning almost his entire adult life, with charges that include domestic violence assault and terrorizing.
