Prince Harry Is Not Sending Son Archie to Eton College Despite Reports

Despite a recent report otherwise, Prince Harry will not be sending son Prince Archie to school in the U.K.

“Prince Harry has not put his son’s name down for Eton, nor does he have any plans to do so,” a spokesperson for Team Sussex confirmed to the Daily Mail on Monday, September 22.

The denial comes after royal expert Tom Sykes claimed that Harry had registered his and Meghan Markle’s 6-year-old son, Archie, to attend his alma mater Eton College.

Harry recently discussed U.K. schools while chatting with British singer Joss Stone at the WellChild Awards earlier this month.

“He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children,” Stone, 38, told Hello! Magazine.

The singer added that “it was nice” to share this moment with Harry since she and husband Cody DaLuz recently moved back to the U.K.

“It’s exactly why we felt drawn to come back,” Stone continued. “For the kids to grow up surrounded by family, friends, and a strong sense of belonging and most importantly in a safe environment.”

Stone also wondered whether Harry — who moved to the United States with wife Meghan, 43, in 2020 — would ever return to his home country.

“He also asked about how we were settling back in and was genuinely interested in our move home,” Stone continued. “He’s just very warm and down to earth, as always. Maybe Harry will move back too. That would be nice.”

Earlier this year, Harry expressed the difficulty of bringing Archie and daughter Princess Lilibet back to his home country without security in place. (Harry lost his appeal for government-funded security in the U.K. in May.)

“I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point,” he told the BBC. “I love my country, I always have done, despite what some people in that country have done.”

However, Harry’s recent surprise reunion with his father, King Charles III, may have changed his tune when it comes to travel. The father-son duo sat down for a private tea on September 10, their first face-to-face meeting in nearly two years.

Harry has since spoken about his plans moving forward, including his hopes for building a relationship with his father.

“The focus really has to be on my dad,” he told The Guardian in an interview published on September 15, noting that he hopes to bring his kids to the U.K. in the near future. “This week has definitely brought that closer.”
