MACHIAS — The Washington County Food Council and Healthy Acadia will host an open house and cider pressing at the Downeast Restorative Harvest Community Farm on Wednesday, Sept. 24 from 4:15-6 p.m. The event will celebrate the completion of the farm’s new barn and offer community members an opportunity to connect and explore the space.
Guests are invited to enjoy fresh-pressed pasteurized cider, light refreshments and networking with fellow advocates for healthy food systems. Attendees will also have the chance to tour the farm and see what’s growing this season. Those with extra apples on hand are welcome to bring them to be pressed on-site.
The DERH Community Farm is located at 73 Broadway in Machias. The event is free and open to the public.
