The Medomak Valley girls varsity team had a sluggish first half, but they were able to score one goal. Haylee Chandler had a beautiful corner kick, where Scarlett Flint found the back of the net with a beautiful header giving Medomak a 1-0 lead with just under five minutes gone in the first half. Medomak then gave up a goal to Aspen Miller on an assist from Stella McCarthy with just shy of one and a half minutes left in the first half of the game leaving the first half tied 1-1.
The second half Medomak battled back and with just over 10 minutes left in the game, Rachel Richarson sent a nice through ball and Scarlett Flint chased it down, dribbled and with composure struck the ball low and away giving Medomak a 2-1 lead. Medomak won the game 2-1.
First half Medomak had four shots on goal and 13 in the second half. Belfast goalie had four saves in the first and eight saves in the second half.
Medomak goalie, Chloe Fox had four saves in the first half and two in the second half.
Medomak had six corners to Belfast’s two. Medomak had two direct kicks and Belfast had twp.
The JV girls team lost 3-0, but Rylee Carter, Graci Boggs, Eva Vannoy and Sydney Boggs all battled hard on the field giving Medomak some energy even though they ended up losing. Each game the JV team is improving. They are working more and more as a team, which is fun to see.
