Cardi B shared her honest feelings about her marriage to Offset via her new song “Man of Your Word.”
The rapper, 32, released the track as part of her second studio album, Am I the Drama?, on Friday, September 19. In the song, Cardi (real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar) opens up about her regrets over her relationship with Offset, 33.
Early in the track, she expresses disappointment in herself for continuing to return to the relationship after several breakups: “Last time you f***ed up, said I was done / F***ed up again, I took you back, s***, I was dumb / I held back for you, was really biting my tongue / Should’ve fell back from you, instead, I gave you a son.”
Cardi and Offset, who tied the knot in September 2017 after seven months together, welcomed their first child, daughter Kulture, in July 2018. The pair briefly split in 2018 but reunited in 2019. However, Cardi filed for divorce from Offset in October 2020. She later called off the divorce, and the two welcomed son Wave, now 4, in September 2021.

In “Man of Your Word,” Cardi raps about welcoming Wave with Offset, saying, “I don’t regret it, it’s a blessing / Just know I learned my lesson. … Don’t know if I’m mad at me or you.”
In December 2023, Cardi confirmed that she had split from Offset again, although they later attended the Met Gala together in May 2024, and she called him her “support system” that same month. Cardi filed for divorce for the second time in July 2024. That August, she announced that she was pregnant with her third child, and she and Offset welcomed daughter Blossom in September 2024. (Cardi recently announced that she is pregnant with her fourth baby, her first with boyfriend Stefon Diggs.)
Elsewhere in “Man of Your Word,” Cardi admits that the relationship “wasn’t all bad” and says she has “skeletons in my closet too, it wasn’t all bags.”

“As a wife, I should’ve realized when you was hurt / But instead, I put my music first, damn,” she continues.
Cardi also hints at infidelity with the line, “Even though I’m up, I always treat you like we even, dude / See what special treatment do? / Huh, I could’ve cheated too.”
She ultimately wishes for her ex to have a good life.
“I really hope you find love, I hope you find a good spirit, I hope you satisfy your needs and everything that I didn’t … I really do wish you the best,” Cardi raps.
Several other songs on Am I the Drama? — including “Magnet,” “What’s Goin On” and “Shower Tears” seemingly include references to Offset.

“Got my baby daddy actin’ like my baby mama,” she raps in “Magnet.”
In “What’s Goin On,” meanwhile, she says, “I told his ass be careful with me, I guess he thought I wouldn’t practice what I preach.”
During a talk show interview on Thursday, September 18, Cardi reflected on “Man of Your Word” and the meaning behind the intimate lyrics.
“I just wish he was a better person,” Cardi said, not naming Offset. “But it is what it is. Be a better person for your kids.”
Cardi also discussed the possibility of coparenting with Offset, admitting that it’s “not” something they can do “right now.”
“I don’t really have hate in my heart anymore. I think he has some type of hate in his heart right now, and I don’t know how long that’s going to take … for him, but that’s always been my wish,” she continued. “I get along with everybody that I dated. If we all move on, there should be no animosity. Your life, my life, separate. We should be able to raise kids. We should be able to ask each other questions.”
