Bella Hadid is giving her fans a health update.
The model, 28, took to Instagram on Wednesday, September 17, and shared a series of personal photos that showed her lying in a hospital bed and hooked up to IVs.
“I’m sorry I always go MIA I love you guys,” Bella captioned her post.
Bella, who was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012 at age 16, did not explain the reason for her hospitalization. But her mother, Yolanda Hadid, left a message in the comments section that read, “
Lyme warrior.”

And Bella’s sister, Gigi Hadid, wrote, “I love you! I hope [you] feel as strong and good as u deserve, soon!!!!!!”
Without giving away her location, Bella’s Wednesday post also featured images of a beautiful pastoral landscape, a sky with a double rainbow and a pizza she ate in her hospital room.
This isn’t the first time that Bella has provided a behind-the-scenes update on the state of her health. In 2023, she shared a snapshot via Instagram of her receiving IV treatments.
“The universe works in the most painful and beautiful ways but I need to say that if you are struggling — it will get better, I promise,” she wrote at the time, offering words of encouragement for others with Lyme disease. “Take a step away, stay strong, have faith in your path, walk in your truth and the clouds will start to clear up.”

She added, “Almost 15 years of invisible suffering, was all worth it if I’m able to, God willing, have a lifetime of spreading love from a full cup, and being able to truly be myself for the first time ever. … I’ll be back when I’m ready. I miss you all so much. I love you all so much.”
Bella did not attend New York Fashion Week in September. She has said that her illness leaves her fatigued.
“Usually I’ll wake up from some kind of bone pain, then have to fall back asleep. I’ll fall back asleep, then sleep until 12 p.m., but that’s just with a 14-hour sleep already [and] I’m still tired,” Bella exclusively told Us Weekly in 2016.
At the time, Bella said that she found herself shaking while posing on red carpets, explaining, “I mean, I’ll call my mom a lot of times and be like, ‘I really don’t wanna go to work today. Please don’t make me go.’ And she’ll say, ‘You know what, You have to do it today. You already committed.’ I end up going, but I’ll nap during lunch.”
Stars Who’ve Struggled With Lyme Disease
After completing a 100-day treatment two years ago, Bella reflected on her struggle in a heartfelt social-media post.
“The little me that suffered would be so proud of grown me for not giving up on myself,” she remarked. “Thankful to my mommy for keeping all of my medical records, sticking by me, never leaving my side, protecting, supporting, but most of all, believing me through all of this.”
