Derek and Julianne Hough are some of the most accomplished siblings to grace the Dancing With the Stars ballroom — and they have even more relatives behind-the-scenes.
“I have four sisters and all my clothes were hand-me-downs from them,” Derek exclusively told Us Weekly in 2021. “I would color my pink tennis shoes with a sharpie and hunt for all the unisex shirts.”
Derek and Julianne, who have won a collective eight mirrorball trophies, are the youngest of the Hough clan.
“My three older sisters all danced and sang and acted. We were in, like, a band. We were just always in it,” Julianne said on a September 2025 appearance on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast. “My grandparents met dancing, my parents met dancing. It’s in the blood.”

Bruce and Marriann Hough
Bruce and Marriann had five children together before they split and went their separate ways. Still, they remain their children and grandchildren’s biggest cheerleaders.
“Life seems so short. Where did all the time go? It was just yesterday I was having babies. Now my babies are grown, and so are my grandchildren,” Marriann wrote via Instagram in September 2025. “New adventures ahead. Life changes on a dime and pivots, engage, play, talk with loved ones when you can.God Bless us in all we do and learn from each other. We’re all just on lone to each other, stewardships to learn from, different experiences, different life styles, different opinions, different perspectives, thank God for diversity and LOVE.”
Marriann has since remarried, and her children now have stepsiblings from her current spouse’s first marriage.
Sharee Hough Selman
Julianne revealed on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast in 2025 that oldest sister Sharee “started in the Mormon way” and got married at age 19. Sharee and her husband, Mark Selman, share six children.
Sharee runs her own fitness company, Hough Werks, teaching dance and yoga classes.
Marabeth Poole
Julianne said on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast that sister Marabeth eventually left the family’s Utah hometown to move to Nashville to “be a country star.” She has also found additional careers as a realtor and health coach.
Marabeth and her husband, Michael Poole, celebrated their 21st anniversary in September 2023. Together, they share a son, Aidan.
Katherine Hough
Katherine, who initially had acting aspirations, now works as a licensed esthetician. The skincare professional is a single mom to three daughters. She was last in a relationship with Tony Schnur, who died in 2023 after a battle with brain cancer.
“Grief is strange, one day you think you’re fine and the next you can barely function, and the hole in my heart remains,” Katherine wrote via Instagram in February 2025. “It’s unfair that I found my soulmate, my best friend, my partner in life, only to lose you too soon. I miss you every day, Tony.”
Hayley Erbert
Derek started dating fellow DWTS dancer Erbert in 2015, and they got married eight years later in 2023. Erbert announced in July 2025 that she is pregnant with the pair’s first baby.
“We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small,” she and Derek captioned a joint Instagram announcement.
