On a night that celebrated television’s finest, Hollywood’s most fearless arrived on the scene in designs that played with illusion, expertly placed embroidery, barely-there mesh and more at the famous Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 14.
These weren’t just your typical “naked” dresses — they were fashion-forward looks.
“In the present, naked dressing is often seen as a statement of confidence and empowerment,” fashion and costume historian Shelby Ivey Christie told Marie Claire in 2024 after the racy fad took over red carpet events. “It challenges traditional notions of modesty and body image, allowing individuals to reclaim their bodies and express their style.”
Celebrity stylist Kat Typaldos added of the sartorial trend, “It’s something that still feels quite taboo.”
