Lydia Plath opened up about why she is “jealous” of her older sister Hosanna for choosing not to be on their family’s reality show, Welcome to Plathville.
“She is amazing. I have a great relationship with her,” Lydia, 21, said on “The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast” on Wednesday, September 10. “We have been so jealous of her for so many years for choosing this.”
Welcome to Plathville chronicles the lives of Barry and Kim Plath and their 10 children as they live remotely in rural Georgia. One of Barry and Kim’s daughters, Hosanna, chose not to take part in filming because she’s already married and lives in Ohio.
Lydia and her husband, Zac Wyse, offered more details on where they stand with Hosanna and her husband, Timothy Noble, during their discussion with Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo on the latter couple’s podcast.

“I used to say, ‘I’m going to be like my oldest sister and just get married and not be on the show anymore,’” Lydia remembered. “Her and her husband just chose to not be part of the show and raise their family on the show, which I respect so much.”
She went on, “I love her so much. She’s amazing.”
Zac, 21, added that Hosanna and Timothy are a “very special” part of his and Lydia’s lives even though Welcome to Plathville viewers don’t get to see them together.
“They’re really caring, in a lot of ways,” Zac stressed. “It’s always great to [be with them].”
Lydia chimed, “Their children display [that caring nature] so much.”
Micah and Moriah Plath previously told Us Weekly exclusively in August 2021 that it simply wasn’t practical for Hosanna and Timothy to film Welcome to Plathville.
“She got married at a young age and moved off with her husband and started her life somewhere else,” Moriah, 23, explained. “And she didn’t want to be on the show, and we were kind of all just, like, yeah, I mean, it’s her life. … Sometimes we keep in touch to some extent, but it’s also, like, she’s across the country and, you know, it would just be a hassle and she doesn’t want to be on the show.”
Micah, 24, admitted at the time that he kept in contact with Hosanna to “a certain extent,” though he didn’t see her regularly.
“I’ve only seen her a couple of times since [they] got married in 2019, I believe,” he explained in 2021. “So we’re not like super close. I’m planning on making a road trip [soon] to go and see them.”

Elsewhere, Lydia and Zac — who got married in February after getting engaged two months earlier — exclusively told Us in August that they were still “playing it by ear” when it comes to starting a family, even though her father, Barry, wants grandchildren soon.
“He’s ready to be a grandfather. He’s still waiting today,” Lydia revealed to Us. “I have a shelf [in our house] that was the shelf that my mom had all the baby pictures on. I have it hanging on my wall. And my dad came over and he was like, ‘You’re going to start filling that up?’”
