Dancing With the Stars season 34 is officially underway with a star-studded list of celebrity contestants and returning pros, but there were a few noticeable absences.

The cast and their partners were announced via Good Morning America on Wednesday, September 3. Jenna Johnson and husband Val Chmerkovskiy are back in the ballroom to compete alongside each other once again with Corey Feldman and Alix Earle, respectively.

Gleb Savchenko will also be taking over the dance floor alongside Hilaria Baldwin after widespread speculation that he was going to sit out this season.

Savchenko raised eyebrows last month when responding to a TikTok comment about his appearance on the show.

“Can’t wait to see you on my TV again in September!” one fan commented at the time, to which Savchenko replied, “Afraid you won’t.”

Everything to Know About ‘DWTS’ Season 34: Celebs, New Pros and More

When the competition kicks off on September 16, Savchenko will be joining professional dancers Ezra Sosa (partnered with Jordan Chiles), Britt Stewart (partnered with Baron Davis), Daniella Karagach (partnered with Dylan Efron), Pasha Pashkov (partnered with Danielle Fishel), Alan Bersten (partnered with Elaine Hendrix), Rylee Arnold (partnered with Scott Hoying), Robert Irwin (partnered with Witney Carson), Brandon Armstrong (partnered with Lauren Jauregui), Mark Ballas (partnered with Whitney Leavitt), Emma Slater (partnered with Andy Richter) and newcomer Jan Ravnik (partnered with Jen Affleck).

However, some familiar faces aren’t vying for the mirrorball trophy. Keep scrolling to see which DWTS pros will not appear on season 34:

Sasha Farber

Farber made headlines during season 33 for his showmance with former Bachelorette Jenn Tran, finishing the competition in seventh place.

Peta Murgatroyd

The last time Murgatroyd was a pro on the show, she was partnered with Barry Williams during season 32.

Artem Chigvintsev

Chigvintsev was left off the DWTS season 33 roster last year amid his split from ex-wife Nikki Garcia. He was arrested for domestic violence in August 2024, one month before the DWTS premiere. The charges were eventually dropped as the exes finalized their divorce.

Chigvintsev said he “would love” to compete on the show again during a February interview on the “Glamorous Grind” podcast.

Every ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Pro Who Has Left and Why

Lindsay Arnold

Rylee’s older sister was a fan-favorite pro during her DWTS days, and viewers have been hoping for a comeback since she last appeared in 2021.

“My reasons for not doing the show feel even more relevant than they did in the past,” Lindsay said in an August TikTok video, telling fans that her future with the show has been left “open-ended.”

Koko Iwasaki

Iwasaki made two appearances as a pro, last competing on season 32 with partner Matt Walsh.
