Bill Belichick’s collegiate coaching debut did not go according to plan — and the TCU Horned Frogs had no problem trolling him about it.
Moments after TCU demolished Belichick, 73, and the University of North Carolina 48-14 on Monday, September 1, senior safety Bud Clark took to Instagram Live from the team’s locker room at Chapel Hill’s Kenan Memorial Stadium.
“Belichick gotta call for his girlfriend!” Clark said. “Belichick gotta talk to his girlfriend. He’s sad!”
Clark was referencing the head coach’s relationship with his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, who was in attendance at the game on Monday night. The twosome made their relationship official in October 2024 and have made no shortage of headlines for their age-gap — and Hudson’s role as a somewhat publicist to Belichick.

Belichick’s much-hyped coaching debut was totally spoiled by TCU, thanks in large part to Clark.
The defensive star returned an interception by North Carolina quarterback Gio Lopez for a touchdown in the second quarter and finished with five tackles, four of them solo.
After the TCU beatdown, the football team’s official social media accounts had fun trolling Belichick and North Carolina, too.
The school shared a clip of Belichick hyping up North Carolina’s upcoming Hulu docuseries, which promised to “showcase our program.”
“When does episode one come out?,” TCU football posted via X.
Before kickoff, spirits were high in Chapel Hill for Belichick and North Carolina to take the field. Belichick was announced as the team’s new head coach in December 2024 after spending 24 seasons as head coach of the NFL’s New England Patriots, where he won six Super Bowls.
An on-campus bookstore even honored Hudson with her own merch.
The beauty queen’s image was seen on a cut-off hoodie with text reading “Hair Jordon,” an homage to North Carolina legend Michael Jordan and his Air Jordan brand, in photos shared by the Boston Globe’s Ben Volin.
“We’re not talking about this,” the sweatshirt read, a reference to when Hudson interjected herself into Belichick’s controversial interview with CBS Sunday Morning after journalist Tony Dokoupil asked the head coach how he and Hudson met.

After Monday night’s loss, Belichick acknowledged he and his team have plenty of work to do.
“We’re better than what we were tonight, but we have to go out there and show that and prove it,” Belichick told reporters. “Nobody’s going to do it for us. We’re going to have to do it ourselves, and that’s what we’re going to do.”
Belichick added, “[TCU] outplayed us, outcoached us, and they were just better than we were tonight. That’s all there was to it. They did a lot more things right than we did.”
North Carolina returns to action on Saturday, September 6, when they travel to take on the University of Charlotte at 7 p.m. ET.
