Taylor Swift can add one more item to her list of reasons to celebrate.

Spotify announced on Monday, September 1, that Swift’s upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl — set to be released on Friday, October 3 — has officially become the most pre-saved album in the streaming service’s history.

“On August 31, 2025, Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl became the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in Spotify history,” Spotify wrote via Instagram over Swift’s album cover art. The streamer captioned the post with a single flaming heart emoji.

Fans of the pop star quickly took to the comments section to share in their excitement. “That’s what we call AURA 🧡,” one Swiftie wrote, while another added, “Taylor Swift is the music industry ❤️‍🔥.”

Taylor Swift Reveals Release Date, Tracklist for 12th Album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’

Others pointed out that Swift was beating her own previous milestone that she achieved with her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, in 2024. “Mind you TTPD broke the record ONE day before release, and Showgirl broke it again ONE month before release😭,” one person said. A fourth noted: “The album is not out yet and it’s already breaking records.”

Swift announced the release of her 12th record while appearing on fiancé Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast last month. She revealed that she wrote the album, which was produced solely by Max Martin and Shellback, while on her two-year worldwide Eras Tour.

“I would do three shows in a row, [and then] I’d have three days off,” Swift explained of her writing process. “I’d fly to Sweden, [then] go back to the tour. I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating.”

Swift noted that it “meant the world” to have another “creative experience” with Martin and Shellback, who she first wrote with on her 2012 album Red. The trio teamed back up for songs on Swift’s 2014 album 1989 and 2016’s Rep, but haven’t worked together since.

According to the Grammy winner, collaborating with the producers created some of her “best” work yet.

“I also know the pressure I’m putting on this record by saying that, but I don’t care ’cause I love it that much, and I’m so proud of it,” she told Travis, 35, and Jason, 37. “It just comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in my life. So, that effervescence has come through on this record.”

Taylor Swift’s 12th Album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’: What We Know So Far

The Life of a Showgirl’s track list includes songs like “Elizabeth Taylor,” “Ruin the Friendship” and “Opalite.” According to Swift, the album is meant to be a perspective of what she was experiencing behind the scenes while traveling on her history-making tour.

“This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant,” Swift said on “New Heights,” while Travis — who started dating Swift in summer 2023 while she was on the road — proclaimed that all 12 songs on the album are certified “bangers.”

The Life of a Showgirl hits shelves on Friday, October 3.
